Easy Sticky Cinnamon Buns!!

Last night I had some Rhodes rolls out and defrosting ready for me to put in the oven when we got home. At the last minute we switched what we were going to eat and I decided to make some cinnamon sticky buns instead.   I melted some butter and "painted" each roll with the butter, mixed together  some cinnamon sugar, about 1/2 cup worth, sprinkled that all ove the tops of the rolls.  Baked at 350 degrees for 16 minutes.  It was a huge hit.  The kids loved them and Brennan even asked me to make them for his birthday to take to his class. Try them and Enjoy!!!

Beautiful, Calendars and Coupons

I have this beautiful pottery piece.  I found it again when we were dejunking the kitchen.  I decided to display it instead of hide it away.  I went and bought some flowers to put in it and now it makes a beautiful display on my desk.  Amazing how something so simple can bring a pop of color to a otherwise dull room.
I have been seeing different kinds of board around.  I decided to make these to hang calendars underneath.  They are rather simple to make and not very expensive.  I should have taken pictures when I made these, I am planning on making some more, so I will take picture then on how to put these beauties together.
This one is for my Grandma for her birthday.
Last but not least I started putting together coupon books.  I am hoping to figure out how to get them on here to share.    I went to the store last week with my notebook in hand and ended up saving 73 bucks worth of coupons in our visit to the grocery store.  So in total for the month of January we saved a little over 101 dollars.  So worth it for a few minutes of going through coupons and getting yourself organized.  I also put together a meal plan for the week, made sure I had everything I needed.  We didn't eat out once this last week, I had everything ready by the time the hubby got home, made sure we had stuff for snacks and for lunches.  We have a family of 6 so going out to eat isn't exactly cheap for us.  Especailly since we live in Japan and it's even more expensive going out to eat around the island.  Hopefully I will keep that up for this week.

Girls Room Organization

We moved into this house from a house that was much bigger.  We have been trying and trying to find more room in it, finally the other day I went into my 2 princesses rooms and start to find new ways to organize things.  Thank goodness I had the hanging nets from IKEA, I hung those up and put some of the girls stuffed animals up, I hung the baby quilts that my mom made the girls when they were babies, we hung the curtain that I made out of 4 tinkerbell runners, and I picked out a few of their favorie purses to hang on the wall as decoration.   We already had the board that I made for the girls hair pretties on the wall and their pictures of Jesus and the painting of a Castle.    Now if I could just get them to keep it clean in there.
I had done the same thing in my room earlier.  I figured what better way to keep my purses nice and displayed?  They look so much better up on the hooks and I actually have something decorating my walls.    Considering my entire house is off white, well except for the tiles in the bathrooms and the kitchen which are PINK!!!!!

Tie Time

I made this tie yesterday.  I bought the pattern from Little Londyn http://littlelondyn.blogspot.com/2009/04/little-guy-ties_26.html you can find it here on this sight.  It turned out really nice.  The pattern was a little hard to understand at points, even for my husband who is the one that usually gets what instructions are talking about. (I am more of a visual learner).  This tie is for my second little monster, he loves orange.

Thrift Shop Fun

I go to the thrift shop on base at least once a week.  Mostly to see if I can find anything fun to craft something out of and to look at their books. ( I am a bookaholic, I love books and feel that you can never have enough of them).  Last night we went as a family, I gave each of the kids a dollar to see what they could get for it.  I myself bought some cute little mugs to get creative with as well as a tank top for a dollar to cut apart and make new things out of.   I can't wait to get things together and show what I have been up to.      I have so many ideas running around in my head that need to come out.

I did find these containers at the thrift shop a few months ago and finally found a use for them.  I had a jar of buttons that I would have to pour out each time I wanted to use them, now I have them all neat and organized.

I also had this pants hanger laying around and decided to use it to hang some of my spools of ribbon on, makes it really nice when I need to roll a bit off of the spool.

New Blog

I decided to start a new blog for projects and things I am doing.  Our family blog is private due to my husband being military and gone a lot.  I don't want to be the one accidentally telling everyone important information that could get hurt him and his fellow soldiers.     One of my new year's resolutions this year is to make everyone's birthday and Christmas presents,  so far I am doing fairly well.  My brother in law is a New Year's Day Baby, so he will have to be included in this years round. :)   So here goes to fun projects and hopefully learning new stuff on the way.
