Cherry Blossoms in Okinawa

Every year in Okinawa the Cherry Blossoms or Sakuran bloom.  They have a festival to celebrate it (they love to have festivals here).  Today we headed out to go to the festival, we didn't make it all of the way, but we did find some blooms to take pics of.  (there aren't that many in bloom right now, which is kind of weird)  We decided to take a little hike, on  it I saw this spider web, Hazel decided to set this flower right next to it and it turned out to be a beautiful shot.

I thought that the contrast between the evergreen tree and the Cherry blossoms would be beautiful, the blue sky makes them pop as well.

I love that even on the same tree the colors can be so very different.

I like this one, even though the flowers are a bit blurry  and the background is what is in focus.

Another good read of Debbie Macomber books. I enjoyed reading this one for free through our library and their free kindle book borrowing program.  Go and see if you library has the same program, well worth it!!

IN a Crafting Funk!!!

The past few weeks I have been wanting to Craft and do something, but unfortunetaly with sick kids and sick me it hasn't happened.  I have been downsizing. ( the houses here are pretty small, I can't complain though, I have heard of even smaller places off base) working on getting ready for parties (Pampered Chef one, and next a book swap here at the house)  I am finally feeling better, going to try and tackle the craziness that is my craft closet tomorrow.  Let's see what fun stuff I can find to work on in there. Perhaps finish a quilt I started awhile ago?????

THE HELP

This has been on my want to read list for awhile, I finally got it here at the base library (the wait wasn't too long)  I read it in a few days (had to do my regular chores, otherwise it would have been faster) I really enjoyed it. I love the characters, well all but one, she is one of those that you love to hate.  I can't wait to see the movie.  This book really opened my eyes to how people were treated and makes me think about how I want to treat people.

A Turn in the Road by Debbie Macomber

I started reading this book last night and am already half way through it, will probably finish it today.  I love love love her books!! This one has had me laughing and smiling, which I have needed the last few days.  Nothing wrong, just in a funk.  Is it sad that I am trying to read all of her books??  My husband just looks at me and says, another one of her books??? Yes, they remind me of home since she talks about the Pacific Northwest in pretty much every book.   Check them out, I know you will love them!!
http://www.debbiemacomber.com/  this is her website, you can sign up for her "fan Club" and leave comments.  Check it out!!

(here they start selling earlier than in the states)  I am so excited, but means more eliptical for me. ;)

Huge by Sasha Paley

I watched this show on ABC family when they had it on, I was bummed when they took it off the air, I really enjoyed the characters.  I just finished the book that the series was based on, very loosley based on that is.  I enjoyed both, but they are nothing a like, except the name of the one of the main characters.   The book has been inspiring and making me rethink my body and what I am doing to it.
