Laced With Magic by Barbara Bretton

This is a sequel to Casting Spells, I really liked the first book and wanted to conitue on in the journey of Chloe Hobbs and the Town of Sugar Maple.   It was a fun read, lots of action and twists to the story.  I can't wait to read the next one!!

Newcomer gift baskets

When we arrived here two years ago, we were picked up at the airport, shoved into a hotel room and my husband was whisked off to work.  The kids and I were left alone in this new place, not knowing where anything was, very tired from our trip and had no food.  The entire hotel was filled with people in the same boat, so of cousre the snack machines were bare.  Luckily we had a bag of chips between the 6 of us at 3am when we all woke up starving.  We decided that we dont want anyone else to have to go through this who is coming into the unit, so we started putting together baskets.

Of course in these there are no food, we don't want that all to go bad, so the new deal is that the sponsor takes them to get food, whether it be at the grocery store or at one of the shoppettes. I will also be working on a little booklet to give to them so that it can answer a few of their questions.  So this has been my little project for the last couple of days.  What do you think?

Life as an Air Force WIfe

I saw this and thought it was neat. The life of an Air Force wife varies, but for most of us it is very different than the life that we came from.  I lived in the same area since I was very little, went to the same schools.  So the moving around, switching schools for the kids, learning new things and languages has been a HUGE learning experience.  I am proud to be an Air Force Wife, I am proud that my husband serves, and I am proud that my kids are military brats.

Never a Bride By Amelia Grey

O.K., first off this isn't normally the kind of book I pick up to read, it was a free one on my kindle and thought, hmmm that sounds good.  It has a very nice story to it, but it was a bit smutty in a few parts, not overly nasty smutty, but tame smutty. (don't know if that makes sense).  I actually really enjoyed reading it and wouldn't mind reading another one of her books.

COUPON QUEENS OF OKINAWA!!!

This past weekend I participated in a bazaar for the USO here on Okinawa.  Sales were kind of crappy, but I did get to talk to a lot of people about couponing and I also got to tell them about the awesome group that I am apart of here on island, the Coupon Queens of Okinawa.  It is a Facebook group, we send each other coupons, help to find the best deals around and help whereever we can.  We donate our time to the Airman and family readiness center, as well as the other equvaliants on the other installations by going in and stuffing envelopes of coupons for them to give out to  others.  If you have any questions about us, feel free to contact me. :)

USO Bazaar

This weekend I have been working the USO Bazaar with my friend Heidi Day.  It has been a learning experience that is for sure.  The building has been unbareably hot, the management has not done what they have promised and sales have been o.k.   I am looking on the bright side, I have gotten my name out there, gotten to talk to a lot of fun people, had my teeth whitened at one of the other booths, (they went up 4 shades) ate some yummy food, chatted with my good friend and bought some christmas presents.  I also got myself a few Kokeshi dolls for my house that I LOVE!!!!!!!!  I'll make maybe 200 bucks, but now I have some new ideas of stuff to make and take. I realized as I was looking around that there was NOTHING for little boys, so I think I am gonna start making some little boy stuff.  Hopefully tomorrow I can post a few pictures.
